Changing your travel date or time
Go to your Rail Europe account and read the fare conditions associated with the ticket you want to change.
If you didn't sign up for an account when you placed the order, don't worry! You can sign up now using the same email address and any associated bookings will appear automatically.
Click on "Exchange options" and choose the tickets you'd like to change.
Choose your new travel date and departure time, then press "Find new trains".
- Select your new trains and tickets. Make sure you select the same or higher travel class.
Get a "quote" for the exchange, then proceed to payment if you are happy with the price.
- Your new tickets will become available in your account and your new booking confirmation email will be sent out a few minutes after your payment has completed.
Changing your travel date or time at the station
UK, France and Eurostar
Staff at the ticket office can change your tickets, as long as your fare conditions allow it. They will need your ticket collection reference to access your booking.
Trenitalia - Tickets can be exchanged online before departure (if permitted by the purchased fares). An exchange is allowed for date/time/itinerary/name and you can click here for more information. Change of class is not allowed.
NTV Italo - Changes in date/time of train is possible online. Name and seat change is only allowed locally at the station. Itinerary change and class upgrade is not allowed.
Note: If you purchase Trenitalia tickets on a high-speed train, an exchange is not possible on Leonardo Express/Regional train with the same ticket.
ÖBB Komfort or Standard tickets can be changed online to a different date/hour so long as you have not downloaded the PDF ticket from the link in the confirmation email (as per instructions in your booking confirmation email). Do note that once the PDF ticket has been retrieved from the ÖBB website, it is no longer refundable or exchangeable regardless of the original conditions as it is considered as activated by the rail carrier.
Domestic Spanish tickets cannot be changed at the station.
If you are traveling on a RENFE ticket exchanges are only permitted online via your account.
If you are traveling with a OUIGO Spain ticket exchanges are currently only available on the OUIGO Spain domestic website. You shall require your booking reference (PNR) and purchase email address to access the modification pages. Changes are permitted up to 30 minutes before departure. Please be aware that in case of penalties or fare difference with the new ticket the Ouigo Spain website currently accept payments with VISA, MASTERCARD or Paypal only.
